Fifteen years ago we had the honor of helping Eric Sorenson and Liz Thompson create a comprehensive field guide to all of Vermont’s natural communities. We were also privileged to work with Libby Davidson’s natural community illustrations. The book became a staple in every environmental student’s book bag and was the go-to resource for anyone that wanted to know more about the lay of the land, Vermont’s flora and fauna, and history.

In 2017 Liz and Eric joined with Bob Zano to update and expand the book. At over 500 pages and many more new photos and illustrations, as well as added communities, this again became a project that required many levels of work, review, skill and collaboration. In the end we were proud to release this new edition to the world.
