The Studio

Rebecca Davison, Principal

Communications Director

Along with trying to get people to understand the difference between “that” and “which,” the importance of the active voice, or the advantage of the serial comma, I manage projects, make sure RavenMark’s financial picture is upbeat, and that the heat is turned down. A publications and book editor for more years than I would like to admit, I’ve come to understand that besides the pretty picture there has to be meaningful content that is worth reading. A believer in the story, a lover of the shape and sound of words, I work to pull our clients’ messages into compelling, graceful prose.

Art Director

I was given the nickname  “loupey”** because I was able to see tiny imperfections on a printed sheet. This is just inherited good eye sight, but I am a stickler for detail so it comes in handy. Bad line breaks, the right color, leading between lines of text, spaces between letters, all of these subtleties add up. As much as I value the details, I don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. Our relationship with a client begins with discovering the overall concept and direction of a project. We ask a lot of questions. I get excited about my client’s projects and goals. I take their success personally. Twenty-plus years in the field (but who’s counting?) has given me the experience that assures our clients things will be handled correctly. I’m not sure what I value more: my portfolio or the good people I’ve met along the way!
